Private Temazcal Ceremony & Cenote
Begin this great experience with a warm welcome by the inhabitants of this small Mayan community of approximately 30 people, learn from their daily activities, acquaint yourself with ancient Mayan culture and join the call of the Gods to start a ceremony of purification, healing and connection with our mother nature. The shaman will invite you to participate in each process of this great experience. Let yourself be by copal and aromatic herbs while the volcanic rocks take the ideal temperature to be placed in the center of the temazcal. Once inside, it will be closed with a blanket and you will be there for around 30 to 35 minutes. While temperature increase, feel and breathe the steam that from the hot rocks and aromatic herbs until concluding with some words in Mayan language to ask for your well-being and purification of your body, mind and spirit.

At what time is the Temazcal ceremony?
E.g: 9 am,10 am, 11 am, 4 pm, 5 pm, or 6 pm.
The whole experience takes about 2 hours, from your welcoming to your meal. It is important to note that the time you will be inside the Temazcal is about 30–35 minutes.

The Temazcal ceremony takes place in the Mayan village of the cenote Dos Palmas which is located just 25 minutes from Tulum town, surrounded by lush vegetation and away from noise.
There are a few transportation options to get to Dos Palmas:
- Rent a car in Tulum, Playa del Carmen or Cancun; many people rent a car during their vacation, which means more freedom and you will be able to get on time anywhere.
- Take a taxi or private shuttle; you can hire private transportation. It is more costly ($100-$150 usd) but you will be able to optimize your time.
- Colectivo; you can take a colectivo on the highway 307 or Tulum town towards Playa del Carmen, ask the driver to leave you at the entrance of the cenote Dos Ojos. From the entrance to Dos Palmas it takes about 30 minutes walking (around 2 km long). The path is on a dirt road and there is not transportation available, so ensure you are wearing comfortable shoes.

What a beautiful and genuine ceremony and experience. I don’t speak Spanish but thankfully my partner speaks enough he was able to translate for me. Halfway through the sweat, our shaman asked if we had any intentions for the hopes and future of our relationship. Right then my, then, boyfriend asked me to Marry him inside the Temazcal. The tour was authentic, welcoming, culturally rich, and an all around amazing time. Thank you so much for having us! We felt so clean, pure, strong, inspired, and full of wonder after the ceremony. To get the most out of the experience, you must surrender and fully immerse yourself in the ceremony, set proper intentions, and lose yourself in it. The ceremony was spoken in Spanish rather than just Mayan so we could understand. If you only speak English, you will want a translator.

I wanted to do an private Temazcal Ceremony for my 35th birthday and CenotesWorld was the way to go! I had the best experience with Shaman Amarando. His energy felt genuine and he took his time going through the ceremony. I also enjoyed swimming in the cenote followed by Andrea's home cooked meal. It was a perfect way to celebrate my birthday!

It is predominantly in Spanish. Bring a translator if you don’t know the language. This was by far one of the best experiences I’ve had. BUT, you should walk into this with an open mind and open heart. You will only get what you put in. The meal they provided was AMAZING and the people of the Mayan village are WONDERFUL!

Only one word, WOW! It was a real experience, loved the actual ceremony and the food. It was great! The cenote was a bit small but yet beautiful non the less. If you want a true experience you definitely shouldn’t think twice about taking this tour.

This was a once in a lifetime event. I will cherish the memory of the ceremony and the kind way the Shaman and the guide walked me through it. The food was amazing and although I still need to practice my tortilla making. The cenote was wonderful as well. I felt so relaxed after the ceremony and to then be allowed to swim and just be there in this quaint village was truly appreciated.
This was a truly memorable experience. We were welcomed into the community with open arms. We learned so much about the Mayan culture, at amazing food and had a once in a lifetime experience. The ceremony was so special, the cenote private and refreshing and the food delicious and nourishing. This was a truly unique and magical experience in the jungle. The ritual was absolutely beautiful and the evening dip in the cenote underneath the stars took our breath away. The residents of Dos Palmas were very caring and sincere, I can't recommend supporting them enough!
